Maths tuition built around each student

At Vertex Maths Centre, we provide school-aligned maths tuition that follows the National Curriculum, with a strong focus on SATs and GCSE preparation.

Our teaching is targeted to each student’s needs, helping to close knowledge gaps, strengthen understanding and build confidence. We also support KS2 and KS3 students, giving them the strong foundations they need for future SATs and GCSE success.

We offer a real classroom learning environment with small-group tuition of up to 8 students, allowing each student to benefit from individual attention while still learning alongside others.

For students who need more focused support, we also offer 1-to-1 maths tuition.

We have experience supporting students with SEND and additional learning needs, and we aim to provide a patient, supportive and inclusive environment where every student can progress at their own pace.

Find out exactly where your son or daughter is now — and what they need to do next.

Our free 1–1.5 hour diagnostic maths assessment gives us a clear picture of each student’s current level, strengths and any gaps in their understanding.

During the assessment, we will:

✓ establish their current curriculum working level

✓ identify strengths, weaknesses and knowledge gaps

✓ assess understanding across key maths topics

✓ create a personalised learning pathway and clear next steps

You’ll leave with a much clearer understanding of the student’s current level, what needs attention and the best way forward — with no obligation to enrol.

How Learning Works

Every student follows a personalised learning pathway based on their current level, strengths, learning gaps and individual goals.

We monitor progress regularly, assess understanding and adapt teaching as students develop. Parents receive progress updates so they can clearly see what has been covered, where improvement is being made and what the next priorities are.

Each student receives personalised homework and targeted practice to reinforce learning, strengthen weaker areas and build confidence.

For SATs and GCSE students, we provide regular revision, exam-style questions and mock exams to develop exam technique, improve accuracy and prepare students confidently for the real exam.

Assess → Plan → Teach → Practise → Review → Progress
